Venetian Village Abortion Clinic & Women’s Health

While the decision to have an abortion may be complicated, the abortion process is not. A surgical abortion or medical abortion are both very safe and simple medical procedures done inside our clinic. Women’s Aid Center provides both methods in a compassionate, supportive, and non-judgemental environment. An abortion is one of the safest medical procedures out there as it has a very low rate of risk and complication.

When you come to our clinic, our staff will supply you with all the details you need.

Surgical Abortion in Venetian Village

Surgical abortion or Dilation and Curettage (D&C) is performed between 6 to 13 weeks of pregnancy by vacuum aspiration method. This procedure is done by Board Certified gynecologists.

The patient chooses the type of anesthesia: local (cervix is anesthetized with Lidocaine shot) or twilight (IV Sedation). With IV Sedation, you need about one hour of recovery, and somebody has to drive you home. Also, you will not be able to drive for 24 hours following IV sedation.

Medical Abortion

You can receive medical abortion treatment as soon as you find out you are pregnant up to 10 weeks following your last period. Two types of medications are used: Mifepristone (Mifeprex or RU-486) and Misoprostol (Cytotec) tablets. The first medication, Mifepristone, blocks the action of a hormone needed to maintain pregnancy. The second medication, Misoprostol, causes the uterus to expel the products of conception.
Other services we provide include:

  • STD screening and treatment
  • Cancer screening and treatment
  • Birth control
  • Among others
